For the record, I am in the process of making sense of things myself. I keep coming back to Bitshares and the design and structure as a Decentralized Exchange. Is this not the Honey Pot?

It's interesting how the process of education and collective consciousness awareness goes. It's a sort of on going process of exposure until it's realized as like yes ok this is here this makes sense...this is obvious. The question that comes up: Why is there such a "lag" in time delay to actually effectively process the various bits of data "to make sense of things" in the best of ways here?

Yes, there's so much data moving around and various opinions about particular bits of data....and in a way it's like a competition of "big data"...and "data" is just in a way another expression and form of "energy"...moved and transformed as various different types of bits of "information".

So we have a process here which is ironically always more or less the same. This process is "terms of agreement". It's contractually based...and it's a social contract of sorts. Meaning that the majority of participants here in this world, create "consensus"...create the "agreement" the terms of engagement here. And the majority of engagements are peer to peer. I think there's almost a confusion about peer to peer...where it's this notion that there must be a middle man...a third party overseer to "legitimize" peer to peer exchanges. Third parties acting as the "protection and regulation".

In theory it should be rather simplistic to organize and structure systems to be efficient and effective. As the majority of humans derive the most benefit from systems that are designed to be efficient, effective and of the overall best value.

A deeper issue here is "independence". Why would I want to be Independent of centralized exchanges in favor of decentralized exchanges? Costs. Yes, the costs are better value on decentralized systems. No overarching authority that can block or freeze funds. Yes - ease of movement and participation on decentralized exchanges. Nice. But if I am the centralized exchange...then i can make a bunch of money off all the people who like the convenience of the liquidity of various crypto's that are available for trade.

Liquidity. I've wondered how possible it is to have higher volumes of coins available for trade on bitshares. The questions that comes to mind is:

"Is it just a matter of individuals coming with large coin holdings and playing market maker?"

"Can anyone create their own exchange platform on top of bitshares decentralized exchange?

Is this the point of Bitshares: It's a platform where every market can be created in a decentralized fashion to the benefit of the majority participants in the crypto markets?"

  • Is Bitshares a threat to existing Centralized exchange models?

  • Would it be in the interest of the operators of a central exchanges to take their operating capital and move it into a Decentralized Exchange? Is this a more efficient and effective way of Exchanging?

  • Is the adoption of decentralized exchanges a win/win for everyone in the markets?

I really like the functionality of smart coins on bitshares. I think it's real cool that anyone can borrow funds if you are able to lock up your principle....kind of like a home equity loan....only the process on bitshares takes about 3 seconds!

  • I've been looking at the borrowing option on bitshares as a potential really good play at the moment....price is at big time lows ...lowest we've seen in months....and so buying a bunch of bitshares and then taking out a 50% of bitshares value in a loan with Bitusd...and then purchasing something else as an additional play could be pretty advantageous.

This has given me some ideas. I have like bitshares for a while but haven’t invested due to the downtrend and haven’t used the platform due to the premium coins listed there have.. Now looks like a good tome to revisit both.

Coool.

keep me posted!

holding very few of it lets see how it turns out :)
