Black Mirror Is Such A Bad-ass Show!

Seriously, I'm amazed by how each episode draws me in and then surprises me even when I think I have figured it all out.
In case anyone out there doesn't know what it is... "Black Mirror" is a modern day shout out to shows like "The Twilight Zone" that focuses around a world not to far from the present moment that often brings up interesting questions about how our modern day technology could easily create a really strange world.

None of the episodes correlate except with Easter eggs and it's not really set in the same world (although it's suggested that the worlds do connect somehow.) Even if they do, each episode feels like it is it's own thing like "The Outer Limits"

The reason I like it so much is because I'm genuinely shocked by the end of an episode. I'm not going to give too many details here, but in the episode "White Christmas" I could not figure out what was going on for the life of me, but I was glued to the screen. When I saw what was going on, it was a really neat idea. A similar thing happened in the episode "Play test." The whole time you think that you understand what is going on, but you don't. And then, sometimes after you get the plot twist, they let you enjoy how it unfolds and then throw another plot twist at you.. lol Great show!

I would love to hear from anybody else who watches the show and has any theories about some of the episodes. I love that shit!

I only agree with you! After watching the first episode "The National Anthem" I was shocked. I wanted to see more and I literally inhaled the seasons. After the episode "San Junipero" I wish for a world like that, too. But after "Metalhead" I was scared about what could really happen. I mean, just look at the brilliant work of Boston Dynamic :D
I like your post!

"San Junipero" was a really heartwarming idea. It wasn't as bitter as a lot of the others, but it still had a hint of sadness at the end when you consider that they are all just a bunch of data blocks being re-arranged by computers. Yikes! What an idea.... and I don't even know how I would cope if I was that woman in "white Christmas" who was in charge of the thermostat. Pretty wild stuff!

We absolutely love this show!! We found it in the summer and spent a weekend binging it. At times it is a total "mind %#@&#". Then you stop to think to yourself, what if? Could shit like this happen some day. lol We havn't started the new episodes becasue we ahve been plowing some other contecnt on Netflix but this post is telling me we need to move Black Mirror bacl up the priority list.

I am always finding myself wondering how likely it is to one day find ourselves one day getting to where these episodes take place. It's crazy how many times I put myself in the shoes of the character in the show.

I caught on to black mirror after season 2 was released so i binged those two seasons and loved it

Im a sucker for the dystopian look at technology in the various applications and facets of our lives

However, the last season I have to say was not nearly up to the standard I expected from Black Mirror. Only ep 1 and ep 6 had anywhere the execution of concept i expect from the show

The rest was all medocre remakes of prevous episodes like the christams special and san junipero

Yeah, I think the expectation is really high from the viewers. I feel that maybe it was good decision to only make 6 episodes or so per season. I imagine it would be really difficult to not re-use an idea at least a little.

Yes I loved black mirror too, especially the one that is almost “Steem like” and based on your approval/ reputation level you get to buy in certain areas and different perks in real life. Very cleverly done, just be careful if your walking down the street and everyone has their mobile phones turned on you!!

Yes! I was thinking that same thing! I couldn't help but think about Steemit during the nose dive episode. It's crazy to see a world that follows that same rule and really shows the devastating effects of what a flag war would look like.

Black Mirror is one of my favorite shows ever made! It's a bit unfortunate that the S01E01 is the very first episode many people watch, because I think it drives a lot of people from watching more episodes (and I can't really blame them).

Yeah, I was kind of turned off by it at first after I saw the first one also. I'm glad that I watched "15 Million Merits" right after, because it sold the show for me. I'm still behind, but I just finished the one with the "Roaches." It brings up a lot of really cool questions about the way we are headed!

Yeah, I was kind of turned off by it at first after I saw the first one also

Hehe, most people feel this way. It would have been a lot better if another episode had been the first that was shown to new viewers to be honest. I think it's also a bit easier to appreciate the first episode once you know what Black Mirror is like.

It seems like you still have a lot of good episodes left to watch then! Enjoy it ;)
