Missing inside the two worst districts, as restated Thursday: Rasuwa 1,393 locals + 1,286 from other districts; Nuwakot 651 locals + 1,136 from other districts.
A Thursday morning Police/NDRRMA line had 1,409 recovered and 1,237 bodies already managed and buried after DNA. Sex split in midweek sheets: about 549 male, 336 female, 525 unidentified remains.
Tibet / Gyirong is still 43 dead, 519 missing in Chinese state media.
No new live tunnel rescue. Onlinekhabar logged six bodies from Upper Trishuli-3A. Chilime had already given up five remains to the India–Nepal team.
The hunger strike is no longer an announcement
18 September. The Kathmandu Post, The Rising Nepal and Ratopati: the fast-unto-death at Manaslu Base Camp has begun.

They want water-level gauges and a siren. They want climate impact in Himalayan school books. They want the next seminar held on the mountain, not in a Kathmandu hall.
They announced the strike after watching Rasuwa. WWA’s paper last week said human warming preconditioned Langtang Lirung. Samagaun is the next valley acting as if that sentence is an instruction, not a headline.
A separate death on the same mountain: Singaporean climber Lau Wee Seng, 50, died Thursday coming down from Camp II. Not the flood. Same altitude band the fasters now occupy.
Diplomacy in the same 48 hours
Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle met India’s S. Jaishankar. Reconstruction is still the $4.76–4.78 billion ask against roughly $2.7 billion in counted damage. The Loss and Damage claim is still about $20 million. Shah speaks at the UN on 24 September.
