Animating my ship designs.

in #blender7 years ago (edited)

I've been playing around with a program called Blender for quite a few years, on and off and while I never really got past the basics I did have a go at animating them about 4 years ago. while the results are not anywhere as good as someone who is able to fully use the program it does show what a relative self taught novice can achieve from playing around and watching a few tutorials.

Blender is a free program and for anyone who wants to go at CGI it's a good program to start with as there are many tutorials on the official site and on youtube.

@alienbutt I really hate Blender, it is one of them programs where it takes for ever to learn, I was playing around with it and I could never get it to work for me, I watched youtube videos to see what I was doing wrong and it drove me up the wall, And thats why i am writing this in my padded room haha.
You have done an amazing job. you can see there has been a lot of hard work that as gone into it. :D

I started with an earlier version many years ago which was easier to use. now I tend to just learn the basics that I need to make my models but there is so much to the program it's hard to keep track of it, especially if you have a months away from it.

You have skill @alienbutt, I have played with it a lot trying to bring an animation to life but found it that hard that I just gave up.
I tend to use pencil 2d now as it is very basic and the end result is poor but it is what it is.

You have done an amazing job with the animation!

That's fascinating, well done! I really admire the fact that you can do your own artwork to go with your books.

Congrats .... I use blender mainly for modeling, and have done some posts about it, but maybe content like this will push me to try animation as well :)

I just watched a video on youtube, I set out my models how I wanted them and then flew the camera though the scene. It was quite simple to do as like I've said, I just play around with the edges of what Blender can do.

Ok ... thanks for the info, since you are saying that is not that hard, will try it defenetly!
