Ubex - Artificial Intelligence Advertising On The Blockchain

Introduction:
Everyone has seen them when surfing on the web. Advertisements in form of banners, videos or popups. Many of them are quite annoying, since mostly they don't even have anything to do with what you are interested in. And some are even leading to scam-websites or contain viruses such as keyloggers like those "You have won an Iphone, click here" advertisement. But not all advertisements are bad. Personally I have seen some interesting ones, where I clicked on it and even purchased stuff, which I otherwise wouldn't have known or bought in the beginning.
If you are looking from the advertiser perspective, irrelevant advertisement to the wrong target group is just a waste of money and is not effective at all. Also due to high commissions and costs for intermediaries, advertisement overall lacks of effectiveness and innovation.

The Ubex Project:
Thanks to the blockchain technology, the Ubex project tries to overcome those problems, by creating a global decentralized advertisement exchange powered by artificial intelligence based on the blockchain. Blockchain helps to offer full transparency of any transaction and cuts out expensive middlemen, while the artificial intelligence helps to identify the best and most fitting advertisement for the user and publisher.

Let's take a look what's in it for the users, the advertisers and the publishers:

1. Relevant For Users:
When users are visiting a publisher's website, neural networks are collecting in real time not only the information on the website, but also from the user. By doing so, advertisement can be placed in a split of a second, specified on the users interest. For example you are often surfing on a website for PC-Games News and therefore the advertisement will be specified for you to the topic of gaming. You will get advertisement for example for pc hardware or games.

2. Effective For Advertisers:
A better user targeting increases the effectiveness of advertisements for the advertisers at the same time. Why should the advertiser pay so much money in order to advertise something the user is not interested at all. As a gaming enthusiast, you don't want to see any advertisement for makeup and the other way round probably also don't want to see any gaming related content. With Ubex the overall click per view ratio should be improved by a lot compared to nowadays advertising techniques. Artificial intelligence further improves the system in that way, that the right format is choosen for the advertisement. No more money for expensive middlemen and testing out the right format is needed anymore.

3. Profitable For Publishers:
On the other hand publishers do not need to worry about filling ad slots or low advertisement returns anymore. Through neural network, those slots are filled automatically with the right content, thus increasing also the overall revenue for the website.

A Working Prototype:
Unlike 90% of blockchain projects, which are doing their ICO to collect funds, Ubex already has a working prototype. The applications can be found here https://app.ubex.com/home and contains:

• A Publishers' Section: Which is currently under development and will be released in august this year. It will have data-mining integrated, which will help to find relevant information for the publisher. Other than that it will support also ad space tokenization.
• An Advertising campaign management: Which allows the advertiser to set different filters, export and import data, see statistics about their campaign and on top of that can check all the transactions on the blockchain, which gives full transparency.
• A new campaign creation option: Which allows to set specific end goals for the campaign and also allows to select specific target audience. Other than that different kind of advertisement formats and settings can be selected.
• A Know Your Customer module: Which helps to upload supporting documents and provide information regarding the advertiser's company.

A Short Look Into What's Coming Next:
Let's take a short look into what has been done and what to expect in the next few months for the Ubex project. The initial idea behind the project was developed already back in Q4 2016. Ubex has successfully created an advertising platform for promoting Payday Loans. Several improvements and further development were done shortly after that such as new APIs, new advertising tools, auctions and an exchange smart contract prototype. For next month the alpha version for the publisher application on desktop and mobile is expected, following after the already released alpha version for the advertiser application. Besides the integration of the neural network prototype, the beta version for the applications is expected to be released in the beginning of 2019. More details about the roadmap can be seen below.

My Opinion:
Ubex is in my opinion a very promising and innovative project, which could revolutionize the current way of online advertisement. Combining the blockchain technology with a very interesting artificial intelligence mechanism could increase user awareness for advertisement, increase the overall user targeting effectiveness and on top of that bring greater profits for publishers. As Ubex already has a working prototyp, I'm quite optimistic and excited to see how this project develops in the future.
