Terrorism and crypto and fiat

While I know this is a sensitive subject, it still warrants some form of discussion.

In Nigeria, we have been battling an insurgency for the last 7 years or so now.

The scourge called Boko Haram has ravaged the north eastern part of the country for a long time now.

But like all organisations, they have to get funding from somewhere. Be it kidnapping or stealing, these ppl must feed,cloth and buy weapons.

It is no news that some elites in the world are probably funding these terrorist groups worldwide, the news is that some time back, the media tried to pin it on crypto!

That not only shows a lack of understanding from them, but a total disregard for the rules set forth by crypto and blockchain technology.

For me, I feel it is far more difficult to send cryptocurrency to a dangerous group than to send fiat.

By virtue of how a blockchain operates, a blockchain can never have their data wiped and as such if a mistake is made that reveals the source of the funds, the elite will forever be trying to hide that link.

Much safer to use fiat and escrows than to use cryptocurrency for evil activities.

That brings me to the reason fiat exists.

Paper currency is the ultimate money laundering tool.

Allowing one to move large sums undetected by anyone, anywhere. It is the tool that has been used by terrorists since the beginning, it is the tool that has been used by robbers, kidnappers and the likes!.

Once a Bitcoin address has been identified, the user must make extra sure than they do not use said address for any other activity, unless, they can be traced.

It's just a matter of finding the origin point of the transfer.
