Between this and supposedly stepping up their online presence (beefier website, two-day free delivery), it looks like Walmart wants to take Amazon head on. What's funny for me is, I don't think of Walmart as a cutting edge innovator, so using blockchain technology for anything in their global operations is a pleasant surprise.
Amazon just bought Ring startup for a billion.
Ring basically makes video hardware and a software that allows you to talk to the person on your door with your smartphone.
One billion!
I know one who has a Ring for their doorbell, but I never saw it in action.
To my point about Walmart, Amazon is the one that seems to be always innovating. Walmart not-so-much. Things haven't rolled out so who knows if they'll get it right or what it will look like, but hey, even though I'm not really much of a fan, kudos for them for even thinking about using a blockchain for anything.
