QUADRANT: A BLUEPRINT FOR MAPPING DECENTRALIZED DATA

INTRODUCTION
Data is an important recipe or ingredient in this technology world however, it is easy to fake, copy and misrepresent. An authentic and reliable data are needed and in a significant amount to power todays algorithms. Unfortunately, the current data economy is loaded with problems. There has been an increase incidence of fake and unauthentic data in the system destroying the usefulness of any algorithm. The world has therefore become impregnated and polluted with these fake data. Its existence is as a results of the gargantuan gap between those (large companies) with the resources to collect and store their own data and those (small companies) that do not. The data these small companies do have access to is kind of data that breaks and produces poor results when fed to algorithms. The suppliers are often not adequately motivated and incentivized. Furthermore, revenue generated are not fairly distributed between original data producers and vendors. The data therefore suffer authenticity problem as a result of these disparities as it obvious that without a healthy and transparent data economy, the increasing demand for authentic data will not be met.

THE QUADRANT PROTOCOL
The Quadrant Protocol is envisaged as a blockchain-based network protocol that enables the access to, creation and distribution of data products and services with authenticity and provenance at its core. 1. Nurseries: the Atomic Data Producers (ADPs) that create the original data records. They create Stars (raw data), which can then be grouped into Constellations.
2. Pioneers: the Data Vendors that create data products with the smart contracts on Quadrant.
3. Elons: the visionaries that utilise the created data products and with them, build new and unique products and services.
4. Guardians the master nodes that protect the integrity of the chain, ensuring that it is not compromised.

And the following features will be employed by Quadrant in the solution;

1. Proof of Data Authenticity and Provenance
2. Constellations for Disparate Data Sources
3. Fair Remuneration and Incentive Sharing

Conclusively, quadrant protocol has come to replenish the data economy with the authentic and reliable data which the world is mandated to have. Quadrant will therefore operate at a lower gas price, achieve faster transactions and restrict malicious nodes from entering data.
