the next "Silk Road" will be on the blockchain : from idea to prototype (day 0)

Day 0 : (Idea)

my name is Lhoussine and i'am a junior software engineer, i will be sharing on steemit a live project development of a distributed marketplace web application , not owned or controlled by any entity , where anyone can find and buy any product he likes and get it shipped without any central authority getting involved.

I strongly think that it's time to stop this madness of these giant intermediaries like Amazon,Uber,airbnb,"BANKS"... that takes a cut from anything that moves around,isn't it possible to do something with all the technology that we have today to replace them (IOT ,Blockchain , AI ... )

My goal with these blogs is to show project advancements , to compile the comments and change the architecture based on the up-down votes the community makes.

These are for me the must haves for this project :

1- Uncensorable
The Application have to be uncensorable , thus anti-central everything , server-less , database-less , domain-less ... i think for this part , i will be using IPFS as it procure all these great things .

2- Privacy + Identification
Privacy is a big matter , as we just want the users to feel completely free to buy anything they want without any kind of registration and verification . we just want to allow their shipment information to be seen by the seller and the shippers. i will tackle in the next blog the technical details and the use of Uport (https://www.uport.me/) for the identification.

3- Shipping + quality + payments
as a marketplace we have to protect the sellers and the customers , the blockchain is very good for tractability of goods but to change right now all the logistics industry it would take some time. one idea is to create an "Uber" like system to pickup products and route them using the crowd force and reward the routers with money or points.
we need to ensure payment as soon as the product is received and is in good shape.we may use smart contracts for that matter , but we need to add some sort of "middle man" (maybe the shipper) that will control the product also and reward him for that.

4- searching products + sellers ranking
as all the products data will be distributed over IPFS , we will need some sort of a distributed database where we can store the products and some meta information related to them. (this seems to be a good starting point https://github.com/orbitdb/orbit-db)

anyone is welcome to participate , let just get the priorities first and listen to everyone's opinion. i will be very glad to have also some technical advice and guidance to make this project. see you soon for the next post
