Blockchain Pioneer John Milburn Officially Joins ONO Mainnet Team

in #blockchain6 years ago

On August 5th, 2018 John Milburn, a famous blockchain technology pioneer, announced that he would formally join the ONO mainnet team as a technology partner. He will lead the 11 ONO mainnet core members including Matias Romeo to build the main network together. It is expected to go online in 2019.

John Milburn was instrumental in the launching of the EOS mainnet and has been involved with EOS from an early stage.

The ONO architecture is divided into an application layer, a system layer, a smart contract layer, and a core layer. ONO’s main network adheres to the concept of co-prosperity and co-governance, based on EOS.IO software to modify consensus mechanisms and smart contracts.

At the ONO Conference on July 26th, John Milburn was present as an ONO mainnet consultant. John Milburn officially joined the ONO main network and will be bringing the technical support of the most powerful resources to the world’s largest decentralized value network ecosystem.

John Milburn was admitted to the University of California at Berkeley in the 1980s to study nuclear engineering. From 1981 to 1991, he worked as a senior scientist at the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory. In 1991, he was invited to be the chief engineer of the Pohang Accelerator Laboratory in South Korea. In 1996, John Milburn was invited to be the head of the Internet department of DACOM, a subsidiary of South Korea’s LG Group. During his tenure, he not only created KIDC, the largest Internet data center in Korea, but also created the largest Internet consumer service architecture in Asia. This structure has been extended to this day. Later, it became the Alipay payment service provider of Alibaba. It is the most important part of Alibaba’s move to the world’s top Internet giants.

Earlier, when ONO had only 200,000 users, some people questioned the necessity of ONO to build its own main network in the EOS community. The usual low-profile John Milbrun was uncharacteristically and immediately countered:

“ONO currently has 200,000 users, if the user information is encapsulated in EOS is on the line, and each user account needs $20, so it will cost at least $4 million to solve the problem. Even ONO, a blockchain unicorn company with more than 30 investment institutions, can’t afford the cost of smart contracts. So ONO, it is very necessary to set up your own ONO main network!”

Please note: There was a previously published error in the Chinese media which stated that John Milburn was somehow associated with Block One. This was an error or misunderstanding. Block One has never employed John Milburn. John Milburn was involved in the EOS mainnet launching, but not affiliated in any way with the Block One company.
