They are the future. However, you can't imagine how may nay-sayers in the health IT are pushing back against the crypto technologies. Big opportunity.
I would call them blockchain technology because the cryptos are either utility tokens that are used for enabling their blockchain transactions/rewards or they are like holding a share of their blockchain much like a stock.
