Currently, digital dollars are being considered by the Fed and SEC to curb the rate of crypto tokens, but reports are coming out that they may not be based on blockchain technology.
Blockchain is superior in terms of transparency and security, but it remains to be seen what alternatives the Fed is considering.
Rosengren commented that blockchain will not be used because digital dollars require sufficient throughput and transaction speed.
