RE: Disrupting the Healthcare industry by provision of reliable and trusted Data: OPIRIA

in #blockchain8 years ago

The greater majority of genome sequencing and selling is for the good. Many people are concerned about the tiny percentage who want to profit by any means necessary. When people first began to learn about the genome project in the early 1990s they were excited. Now, people are worried about the possible implications of insurance companies using the data for non-health purposes. I'm still on the fence about all this, but I've read of many good things coming from the genome project.

The fear of personal Data being leaked and used for other purposes order than it was provided for in the first place is worrisome. This is why projects like Opiria is here to ensure that personal data provided is secured and only gets used by companies who have the need for it and doesnt get in the wrong hands.

I agree. We all need security with our data. Thank you for the explanation.
