The Blockchain - Economic Activism

in #blockchain8 years ago

Humble Greetings from a sunny and soulful South Africa.

Recently I have been sitting in some rather interesting board meetings and the likes discussing some very real real things that affects our country and the world at large in a very real way. We are a group of individuals committed to finding solutions to some very serious inadequacies that plague not just us South Africans, but the world at large. So, we sit to identify the needs and requirements within the capacity of what is possible and available.

Many of the members hold very high positions but what I find interesting is that they are still talking a language for change that’s heavily reliant on the old structures. At the introduction of a change that is now possible, Once the blockchain and respective services are brought to their attention and is understood, we start unpacking the true potential of what we’ve been gifted. It's like someone pulled the rug from under them, in fact I can often see their eyeballs flash red “7’s”.

My prediction is that by the time the banks get to using the tech, they won’t be relevant anymore and services like #steemit will have real value based on an economic model that simply just serves everyone, this is the part of the crypto space many battle with, what backs and drives the value of a crypto currency?

Reflecting on this question, I seemingly reversed the question by asking what backs and drives fiat currencies?. This then brought up the question of what gives any fiat currency its value? Fiat currency is nothing more than a game of manipulation & monopoly. Many I speak to have a serious case of nausea once they understand what’s really been happening. To make it worse to start off with I was reminded recently about how Africa has been used to create much of the wealth, especially the old money, during the time of Africa’s colonization. I wrote this piece on this topic : https://steemit.com/politics/@simplyshad/pimpin-off-the-back-of-africa-the-history-of-african-colonisation

Taking the above into consideration and knowing where most of the gold reserves were mined from, how did gold become the standard in the first place, did the west have any? They must have if they made it the economic standard. So they stole it and used It to gain financial control of very same people that they took it from, then we look @ Africa and say we are poor, sick and dying? So how I see it is that the fiat currencies are based purely on politics and not much to do with the real value of the currency, and for the very first time in our history we have a fair chance at really playing in this game, whereas before we were just watching. The most common question in my discussions on this topic is, where the money comes from and how is it real?

My reply is explaining that #Bitcoin’s value had a lot to do with it being the first crypto-currency offering us the ability to make and transfer money all over the world seamlessly, and taking into consideration its life span, it would give most good enough reason to accept the value of the currency. Now we are seeing many more applications coming out, example steemit, where simply because people believe and want this it will BE. Those who pay to play as oppose to write can still buy coins and add to the financial portfolio of the organisation, and means they believe in it, much like when an investor buys into an organisation and is issued shares. I feel we are still in the beginning of what’s really coming & possible, and I’m not just referring to the tech, I’m referring to the reflection once we realise that we don’t need to be governed and can live a good life without those who believe there needs to be order. Most of the laws have been put in place to avert problems that stem from the same source, financial control. So this for me is the falling of the final pillar so that man may finally realise our truest potential & purpose, to live in peace and fairness for all. To have complete financial autonomy in your hands, wow, it’s like a dream come true, especially since I’ve been battling with this from the time is was a young boy.

Interestingly with the creation of the #blockchain and crypto currencies and the ever growing awareness of its applications, these currencies gain a measurable value based on the intent of the creator, whether people like or believe in it, and what problem does it solve. This usually does the trick when trying to get investors to see the value, right?

So now any community which includes any area, group of people or ideas that a group of people believe in, can earn or create money, proving all along that “we were the money” and that all of what is, is built off our backs, hidden behind a brand.

I want to make money, just the right way ...
