They are actually identical in many ways. But one of the main differentiating factors is that AntShares has a huge support in China and the Chinese market usually doesn't prefer external influence and prefer to use home-grown technology. You can see this with WeChat - Facebook/Whatsapp, AliBaba - Amazon and even Uber - Didi. On top of that, AntShares is not centralized and does not have a potential infinite supply to play with. So lots going for it.
