The Kambria Project
What is Kambria?
Kambria is a new decentralized platform designed to create a collaborative ecosystem in robotics development and adoption. The Kambria platform creates a knowledge repository (or library if you will) designed to maximize reusability and collaboration during robotics development. It can be used to share manufacturing processes, software, hardware, AI, and firmware among parties that previously kept their developments private. Kambria is designed to greatly increase the speed of the growth of robotics technologies. So robotics manufacturing that is faster, cheaper, and easier to develop is the goal.
The Problem(s) Kambria would solve
In the robotics industry there is a large amount of waste and unnecessary duplication, Kambria allows users to use the work of those who went before. The whole system should not have to be redesigned just to make a small modification or improvement..
Until now sharing platforms in technology have generally required donations to be sustainable, Kambria would incentivize the sharing of information with their new coin, the KAT token. The system now is a scattering of directories, settings instructions, parts assembly instructions, lists of suppliers etc. Kambria puts all this information in one place.
If you ever ask NASA why we haven't gone to the moon again, it is because there are no start to finish instructions in one place, it's all over the place, much of it lost. You should not have to start from scratch if the project has been completed before.
According to the Kambria website, https://kambria.io/ , over 85 percent of work in robotics is wasted duplication.
The high cost of a creating new start up in robotics is prohibitive. If there was technical information available from those who went before the cost could decreased significantly. A new start up should be focusing on new problems, not working on issues other developers solved years ago.
Kambria should, in theory, make technology manufacture cheaper and more efficient. If you want to improve on a previous project everything would be in one place so you don't have to duplicate previous work. There is also currently a lack of methods to share information among various developers in robotics. This causes the cost to rise significantly. There is no incentive to share information among competitors, each company does everything in house, even though collaboration would benefit all parties.
How Kambria works, taken from the whitepaper
Kambria would utilize an open repository of robotics development tools. The token would be an incentive to share this information, and for others to purchase it.
Contributors to the platform earn Kambria coins (KAT tokens) for submitting information that gets used by others. This allows the creator of the information to profit, while the person who views it does not have to duplicate all that work.
Smart contracts can be used. If you are a company looking for solution to a problem you have encountered, you can post a bounty for 100 dollars up to 1 000 000 dollars for another party to post a solution. Instead of your plans sitting in dusty vault forever, and never getting used again, you can sell them to another party who needs them. It's a win for the seller, but also for the buyer who doesn't have to duplicate work already done by others.
The contracts can also be used to ensure payment when the robot actually gets used. If it is just a bunch of parts it has less value than a robot that is up and running. You can create a contract that ensures payment when that robot robot gets sold or leased.
Kambria will have an anonymous flagging system to detect freeloaders as well as a legal team to pursue legal actions.
In future there will be a Kambria Karma system that rewards users with a bonus generated by fees the system issues. It is similar to having a stake in the company.
Conclusion
I like this project. There is a clear incentive to buy the coins from anyone who wants to buy information, or post a bounty. With smart contracts the community can even vote on which bounty submission can win. It seems like this coin would deal with existing issues slowing down robotics development. The future is here!

I like the idea of this thing. Blockchain being used to share knowledge and advance robotics is pretty awesome.
clear project .i likes.
This seems like a really cool project. With the rapid growth of the robotics industry, a standardized library would be very efficient. AI is still in it's infancy and has the potential to make Kambria a Cash Cow. Thanks for sharing this. I'll have to read up on it.
Not only you're cash cow but a huge free library of knowledge especially in robotic industry.
Exactly, the same thing I think, because a platform full of reusable information, would greatly benefit the ecosystem
Bravo to the creator of this new platform, where in addition to the tokens generated by the actions carried out we could also learn about the robotics for which we do not know much about it, have a robot that helps us to understand and put into practice projects that previously would be impossible to understand, Kambria would provide us with the necessary tools to reuse jobs that were believed to be unhelpful what would benefit both sides of the platform, thank you for leaving us this insurance information read more and I will look for more information about it
@viraldrome this kambria Blockchain is looking to be good one and i hope this will shine in future .
Knowing that the world is going robotics by the day, this project is bound to moon sooner than expected.
I think the robots are going to take over
Its really helpful, I know how hard to begin your robotic project from the scratch. Not so long ago, back in my college days, I remember that one of our project is to design a robot that can segregate waste. And all that have start to zero, its hard for us to find references or any other related studies.
Now with Kambria, student and professional saves a lot of time and money.
This is so cool, a platform that helps to boost the idea of robotic with an inbuilt token?. I'll rather pitch my tent here.
Hoping to hear of more development on the platform.
It really seems a very interesting project to transform and simplify the robotic production line. Another whitepaper to read after that of Uunio (do you see other good points ? I'm reading it). All bounty's success to you...
Robots and artificial intelligence are very useful, but their long-term damage is unimaginable.
Like Terminators?
And Robocops
