life at now

Hi,

today we are talking about the life status, career, and some choices that have been done and due to be done.

I can tell, that I'm fortunate to have a good life. Life, even if though, has been good in the past years, and when I think about, it was mostly good. I was born in communism, which was bad. But from a very low point, there is only one way up. I was lucky to have great parents, so on this spot, the birth lottery was a winner, also, that I'm healthy.

Anything else, was more made by choices. I've chosen to play sports and to study, to avoid distractions. Going to university, and earning a degree, helped a lot. It opened doors and helped in creating a network. Some might say that universities are not needed, I would say to go to an intervention to a person without studies. Don't get me wrong, some is useless, like gender studies, and I think there shall be more courses on entrepreneurship, mindset and practical skills in life.

So, now coming from the past, to the present. I'm not where I wanted to be at this age, even if life is good and there is no survival stress. I've got a family, and we could be considered intellectuals in the upper-middle class.

About 7 years ago, I did a switch from purely technological research to sales, and I'm quite happy with the decision. More people contact, more fun tasks and definitely more money. It comes with a cost, which sometimes can be seen as a perk. I do travel a lot, and I mean a lot, like 3 days in a week I do travel. I did join the blockchain when I did the switch, as a fun fact.

This increase of income, helped us to leverage and invest it. We bought some real estate pieces, that pay or themselves and which can be leveraged or other units. Also, the investments have had very decent returns. We are not financial independent yet. It will take probably another 15–20 years to reach a level, where we are comfortable. My main goal is not the financial independency, but the building of generational wealth. In my family, we had, at different stages, this wealth, which was documented. Due to the different black swan events, it got reset to zero. 1848, 1914, 1940, these have been the most recent ones. My parents started from scratch in 1990, after the iron curtain fell, and now I'm building, so that my kids can live a life at least as good as ours.

Even if I love my work, the next change is due anytime soon. I've started in the past years to build up companies in my private time, but there will be the need to go full focus for an own company. Here my courage is missing, as I've had some bad experiences in the past. Also, I want to have a business, where I could delegate most of the work. Still not decided in which field, being it in software, combined with web3 and AI, or the ones where I have experience, in physical product manufacturing.

The plunge needs to be taken into the next 2 years, as I owe it to my family and myself.
