Hi,

one thing that I do daily is journaling and task setting. I've dealt before with depression, and you can read it in here.

For me, both planning and reviewing go hand in hand, and a journal is the best way to have both in one place. It gives the day a structure and a base for a review. My life has improved by a lot since I track most of the things around. My biggest target is to build wealth for the next generations, and also have fun doing it. Well, this is a big thing and very abstract, and somehow, needs to be brought to the real world. For this, I defined that I need a certain amount of assets, which are then split by a time period, and when to acquire them. The steps for this, are then split in tiny steps, that are done daily. Yes, sounds big, but I try to plan 3-4 weeks in advance and somehow the steps I need to do in this tiny amount of time, to reach that big goal.

Thanks to my friend @schneegecko, I've added, beside the normal journal, that I carry with me, on every trip or holiday, a wheel of life schematic.

The wheel of life splits the most important things in my life in different categories. I have the following 8 for myself:

  1. Significant other - here would be my wife
  2. Kid
  3. Health
  4. Family
  5. Friends
  6. Environment
  7. Money & Business
  8. Personal growth and interest

Each has a grade from 0 to 10, 10 being where I want it to be, 0 is rock bottom. None are 0 or 10, just for the record.
Here are some targets that give me points or this wheel of life. I don't want to make a photo of it, a sit is very personal, but it is over my desk, to see it daily.

Of course, each category has different target, like for personal growth is to learn to play piano and the aim for success would be to play the Nocturnes, Op. 9 by Chopin by the end of the year. That would be for me the target. For that, I'm playing 30 minutes daily piano. So the big target is in the wheel of life, and to reach that, I divide everything into small achievable steps. Sometimes it might be overwhelming, but if you get into the habit, it improves life by a lot.
