It Would Go
So essentially, if there's an amendment made to the bill on the House side after the House receives it, and they proceed forward with the rule, if they vote yes on the rule, then they would immediately go into a conference committee and negotiate that amendment. But because, and what it sounds like, Nick is saying, the Senate itself made these amendments prior to kicking it back over to the House. So it sounds to me like they had some informal meetings ahead of the Senate kicking it back over to the House so that they didn't end up having to go into overtime or, you know, that's the conference committee is sort of the legislative overtime, like if you're talking about basketball or football or whatever.
So, but she's right in that it... And Nick is right that it could have also opened up a huge can of worms with the, you know, minority caucus asking for additional amendments, et cetera, et cetera. So, yeah. So that is a possibility because if the House were to offer amendments on the bill after they received it, it would go into a conference committee.
They'd have to negotiate those provisions. Hey, Breonna, if they're going to try to do something to get these holdouts on board, do you think, and I ask self this, do you think it's going to be like promises? They've done that before, like the speaker stuff is always promises. Or do you think that they would actually try to amend the bill somehow or kick it back with amendments or something? I mean, I'm not sure how they would do that.
