Insubordination.....steemCreated with Sketch.

Today I was fired, from my newly acquired job. I liked this job a lot. It was chill, not stressful and not hard. The office in which I worked was really cool, the ladies there.... I got along with no problem. However, that all changed beginning yesterday evening right before I was to get off. I ended up receiving a call from one of our clients. Apparently this particular client was deemed "hard to deal with" among other things, i.e. rude, generally trying to get over on people. The client was upset and very animated when I took the call. I let the client speak and then I attempted to help. The client wasn't disrepectful to me at all but needed help and was tired of the runaround and wanted to speak with someone above my boss. So I ended up giving the client the number of the Guy over my boss. Wrong move as it was his personal cell number that was on my list with an extension beside it. I made a mistake. Yikes!!! The client called and I know it didn't go to well because the client called back to inform me that the person treated her rude and inhuman and she wanted to know who to file a formal complaint with. At the same time I received an email from the person which she spoke with in the subject line he put "please don't ever give my cell number out to anyone who does not work for the company" Big oops on my part, I apologized immediately and went on to explain the events leading up to that and included what she said about him in my email as a heads up. He replied back to the tune of "stop sending this clients calls to my office, and if she didn't like the way I spoke then the client should not have spoken to him in that way." (keep in mind I was working for a hospice, people who are terminally ill) I responded with clarification saying that I did not transfer the call to that office it was the exact opposite, and who do I send her to to file a formal complaint. This was met with him saying "I am not going to argue with you and my boss will handle it." I responded back to say I was not arguing but merely stating the truth, since he assumed otherwise but I would let my boss handle it from here on out.

Fast forward to a couple hours later I was pulled aside and told I was being let go for insubordination. Okay..... I guess that honesty and truth was not in the forefront of his mind, he took my very professional responses to him as insubordination and I was fired.

So back to the drawing board. Long gone are the days where I let anyone assume anything about me and my work. I am not okay with being lied about or assumptions, I will forever set the record straight. Which led me back to unemployment status.

When it rains it pours.

I can't let it get me down. It cost me my job.

Thank you for stopping by and reading.
