I myself is not believing in the old saying of elders but some of them are just told because of common sense but others are just passed from tongue to tongue without any reason backing it at all. @nainaztengra
Some of them just get a very different meaning from what original it was meant to be. Nevertheless it is best to not go with many beliefs.
