RE: How I fell on my face and learned about life: A personal essay.
First of all, I am deeply sorry for your lost. And it's understandable that you couldn't do anything in your situation. You couldn't fly back..
What a nightmare with the bicycle! One can't be careful enough.. But I'm glad that nothing worse has happened to you and that there kind people to help you.
You are very brave to have dealt with that in this way. It must have been so difficult to be away from your family and dealing with the loss of your friend and you surgery. Lucky us we have all this technology that connects us with home. Of course it's not the same as the personal contact but it's at least something to keep in touch.
Oh, and good for you that you had the insurance! Your life has changed but this is how it was supposed to be. And all of this made you stronger!
Thank you for sharing such a personal story. It was probably not easy to write..
It wasn't too difficult for me to write this, because I actually prefer to process events in my life by writing them down. I'm very introverted and I often really suck at expressing myself out loud, so writing is an important outlet for me.
Thank you for reading my story and responding so thoughtfully :)
