Johanna of all Trades: The Untalented One (in response to @surpassinggoogle 's challenge)

Jack of All Trades - an idiomatic expression being used to a person or people who has the ability to venture unto almost everything and with good results. Good in things, but not referred as genius to a particular craft.

By the way, hello! My name is Johanna Gail Tongco or @gailbelga. I just came up with this name for my steemit account -- because my second name is Gail and I want to marry a Belga someday. Haha! Talking about self-confidence, I think it is overflowing within me.

I regard myself as Johanna of all trades because I venture things persistently. I do not consider myself talented though because most of the time I tend to finish the tasks ahead of time from what has been expected. At work, I am very critical to details, but on my craft I want a quick result in a snap -- talking like magic.

A mother of two
Whenever I am asked about my relationship status, I tell them that I have a boyfriend and that I am a mother of two 'lovely' dogs. This one here is Sunny, a three month old pup. She has turned our house into topsy-turvy when she came. She loves stepping onto almost everything.

She loves to poke my eyes with her head whenever she has the chance to get inside my room while I am still asleep. It is like having a three year old son trying to poke my nose and other body parts. She has also been following me all over the house and cries whenever she cannot see me around. Gosh!

Green Mother Thumb
Aside from taking care of the household, I also take care of our plants. I think we have a variety of plants at home. Once in awhile, I also help my succulents propagate.

I feel so giddy whenever I see succulents propagating. It is like seeing a mother gave birth.

Gail! Gail! Gail!
I really had lots of wonderful dreams in my life and part of that is to become wonderwoman.

Why Wonder Woman? Mainly because she adheres justice and she is very passionate towards this craft. She also has her lasso of truth (right??). She has been fighting crimes and wanted the world to become a better place.

Well, you can regard me the smaller version of Wonder Woman --- Power Puff Girls, because just like them I am small, cute, and cuddly. Haha! Unlike Wonder Woman too, I have a portion of love stories to share.

I took up the Law School Qualifying Test in Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan and fortunately I got high remarks. Law School was a struggling journey. At first I really loved it, but later on I kept asking questions to myself. Is this what I really want to do? I had sleepless nights thinking about myself being a lawyer someday and it made me more depressed in life.

What if at some point I need to disregard my principles to win a case? It bothered me a lot.

I discerned to the Lord what is the purpose of my life and it felt like He was leading me to a place where I had myself so familiar with -- and that is on the grassroots level.

I worked in different youth nongovernmental organizations. I became a peace advocate travelling around Mindanao and sharing the idea that no matter how heterogenous our country is, people can still work out hand in hand in developing peace and development. It was pretty tough at first because I was so young and inexperienced at that time. But hey, it was not something that would make me stop.

Speaking to different levels has been hard but I found a sense of purpose on it.

Last June, I was selected to become a Summer Institute Fellow of Teach for the Philippines. From 400 plus candidate, I was one of the 18 young leaders who had been chosen to take part in nation-building by becoming a teaching fellow.

The experience was all worth it, but I was covered in depression that I decided to go home. A lot of the people around me felt bad of my decision. Some told me that I should have went back to becoming a public servant in a line bureau of DENR. But I never saw myself becoming a regular office worker. The idea alone killed me.

Art as a passion

You can name me as one of the people who loves to hoard art materials. I literally spent a lot of money buying different art materials (from pencils, canvases, and a lot more). But before 2016 ended, I decided to give 3/4 of my art materials to aspiring artists.

I kept pursuing my passion in Art. I sold a number of art pieces, gave a lot to my friends (and to some guys I dated and to my exes).

Basically this one was sold to become an interior decoration in a restaurant. I had my own art style.

I also made portraits of different individuals who had been close to mt heart.

During Summer time, I work as an art teacher to kids. It has always been exciting to me to teach kids who have the passion in art.
I l,for one, use art as a way to get rid of my depression. Aside from writing , art has been a gateway for me to become blissful.

I remember teaching art to 3 year old kids, it was pretty hard but seeing them enjoy their masterpieces, it gave me a sense of happiness. It is still fulfilling for me to see them grow and love art.

I had a share of failures and setbacks in life but those never made me stop. I never regretted a single decision that I made in life no matter how hard I fell. It made me stronger to venture more unto it. Those stories of mine became my testimony and has honed me to be a person who lends her ears to listen to the stories of others too and gives her heart to those who had been disheartened by life situations.

Just like this doctor from Grey's anatomy, we do not need to be beautiful (and also talented). I believe we do not need to discover new things, invent new machines, cure diseases to become brilliant. We just need to be passionate towards things, touch lives and inspire individuals, and that is how we end on being the best version of ourselves -- that is how we become brilliant.

May we become visionaries.

I hope you have good days just like me. Let us all be compassionate towards our goals and help create the world a better and place to live in. Ciao!FB_IMG_1506586315955.jpg
