Broken lower retainer and possible swallowed fragment

I woke up this morning and discovered that one end of my lower retainer had cracked and a piece was missing. I was wearing it while sleeping, so I am concerned that I may have accidentally swallowed the missing fragment during the night.

I have checked my bed and the surrounding area but have not found it. At present, I have not noticed any breathing difficulties, persistent coughing, trouble swallowing, chest or abdominal pain, or other symptoms.
