Casa Ronda
Casa Ronda is located on the coast of Cañete, a province of the Lima region. One side of the site faces the Pacific Ocean, while the mountains serve as a backdrop. the architects wished to emphasize these two aspects in the design of the house.
Using red stones from one of the mountains, a curved wall was built in the center of the residence. It surrounds a small courtyard, protecting it from coastal winds. Furnished with a curved sofa and a dining table, this circular patio leads to a swimming pool. This pool is surrounded by the white outer walls of almost 3m high building, but a large opening opens to an ocean view. To comply with local building regulations, the red stone wall does not extend beyond the white facade of the building. The stone wall is left exposed inside the house, with its reddish hues contrast with the walls painted in white and pale stone floors. The stone steps are suspended from the metal tubes around the structure, forming a staircase that leads to three bedrooms in the basement.
