Marks Top Vehicles.
OK, So these are the best things I’ve driven, Some of them I own, some I have access to. Some might even be work vehicles. I should warn you though, I’m not interested in super cars. I like fun and usable, not things that spend their lives being moly cuddled in a heated show room. That said there is one very unpractical car I’d love just for fun, And although I’ve never been in one I would have a Morgan three wheeler, not because it’s the best or most reliable or even remotely practical. But because it looks the most fun, and I could buy flying goggles and look cool, and although I couldn’t buy one with cash if I took out finance and became skint for the next ten years I could in all reality afford one. Unlike a Ferrari or a Lamborghini which I struggle to spell and defiantly couldn’t afford even on finance, then I couldn’t afford the running cost and i couldn’t get it up my farm yard drive. So I’d be happy if you lot up voted my stuff just enough for the Morgan then I’m not forced to bin the flying goggles, I’ve already ordered them you know.
Me at 17 delighted with my new Landrover in the snow.
My trusty old friend, the Landy. I saved up all my money and I brought myself this series three 2 ¼ diesel Land Rover when I was living with my mum and dad on their goat farm in Wales. I was seventeen and had only passed my driving test three months ago and now I had my own Land Rover. You can tell I was 17 when I brought it as I instantly started welding roll cages fitting spot lights and not forgetting a huge winch. I’d always liked them as my mother drove one, so i have many happy memories of bouncing along the Welsh country lanes to school in the rear sideways facing rear seats with my sister. I still own Pep as I call it today although sadly because I’m away a lot I don’t have any animals on my small holding and I don’t have much time to drive it. But I have many happy memories of pulling or carting things around the farm, chucking my mountain bike in the back and going off on adventures and rescuing people who are stuck in the snow. I will probably never get to drive a Ferrari but I have towed one. I don’t have a clue what the owner was thinking but he tried to drive down a bridal path that cuts across fields on are farm, not a legal right of way for cars anyhow and altogether stupid in anything other than a tractor or four wheel drive. However if you’re going to give it a try in a normal car surly a Ferrari is the last car you would use. I still love driving my Landy slowly bouncing around the country lanes of Shropshire where I now live, and I would defiantly recommend one. Get a standard Series 1, 2, 2A OR 3 and you’ve got a very useful classic car. Cheap to tax and insure and although it won’t get you there quickly or comfortably it will get you there, even in the most difficult of circumstances when everybody’s stranded and shovelling snow mud or wandering how they’re going to get half of the overflowing River Seven out of the carburettor.
Every workshop should have one.
Don't mess with me, I got a tank, and i'm not scared to use it.
An Abbot tank, but as the purest out there will tell you that’s not a tank, it’s a self-propelled gun, But let me tell you, when you look in your rear view mirror and you see this thing charging up behind you what you see is a tank. Now this is something I have driven but wish I owned. So if you up vote me enough and I have change from the Morgan I’ll have the tank to. If you had around £40000 you too could own one and with rubber inserts in the tracks and a H licence your road legal and could announce to your friends I’m just taking the Abbot self-propelled gun out for a quick spin. Now some people who know nothing might try and put you off by telling you how expensive and unpractical this is but I disagree. For starters road tax is free and there’s no MOT. Its congestion charge free in London, parking’s not a problem as you can pretty much park it where ever you like, Who’s going to argue with you? Perfect for the school run, Safe to. Despite the camouflage paint everybody will see and hear you coming, and your always at least 20 ft away from any accident. Not to mention it’s a good investment, Buy a four wheel drive for the school run and the value of the thing will deprecate much over the coming years, Abbots however are becoming collectable and values are on the up. So not such a bad over expenditure after all.
Think i'll just park it here.
Well it says Scambler on it.
My first and only motorbike, and my fall back vehicle for flying goggles should you lot let me down and the Morgan three wheeler doesn’t happen. After I passed my motorbike test I was after a Honda Shadow. However I just happened to work with somebody who was a complete Triumph nut and he talked me into this. I’m glad I listened. Perfect bike for somebody who has just passed because it doesn’t try to kill you and it’s not overly powered. However, Now I’ve been riding for several years I’ve never felt I’ve needed more power. I know it’s not quick in the bike world but it feels quick to me, I drive a lorry, 0 to 55mph takes many gear changes and about half an hour. 0 to 60 on my Triumph takes a few seconds and one gear change. I also have to think about my driver’s licence, I use it for my living and I don’t want to lose that, so there’s no point in having anything that will do 200 mph then is there. But just like the Morgan three wheeler it’s fun. But the fun comes while you’re under or at the speed limit. Buy a Honda fire blade and you need to be doing at least 150 mph before it becomes fun. Then there’s the famous people who ride or have ridden one. They really don’t get any more famous then Steve McQueen. The Fonzie from happy days rode one, apparently some chap called Tom Cruise has one and David Beckham had a custom built one for his tv motorbike adventure across the Amazon in Brazil. He also owns a Landy, and he’s started growing a beard. David Beckham is copying me. So for me the Triumph Scrambler is as classic and as cool as it gets but with modern reliability, fun and cheap to run and insure. Why wouldn’t you want one? If you’re not sure then you could also look at the Triumph Bonneville which is the same engine and frame just in a slightly different set up.
Yep, i'm lost.
Remember people, Flying goggles are cool.

My very first Volvo.
Volvo fh. Yep, it’s my work lorry. I practically live in it from Monday to mid-day Saturday and I couldn’t tell you how many miles I’ve done in one over my lifetime. I’m on my fourth one now but the other three are still on the road with newer drivers, and it’s nice to see my old truck driving past with some of them have done over a million kilometres. I must have seen all of the UK from the driver’s seat of my Volvo and there comfortable, quiet and the latest shape Volvo is incredibly smooth. My newest one has a fridge, a microwave,. A night heater for sleeping on those cold winter nights, or days as I tend to work mostly nights. And air con for the summer months. Everything you really need with loads of storage space for all your food cloths maps and whatever you can think off. I make most of my videos from inside my lorry as its where I am for 90% of my time. My only little niggle is the bunk is a bit narrow. I’ve often wondered how bigger drivers manage as I’m skinny and I find it very narrow with no room to roll over or move about. But then with 550 bhp under my right foot, two seats and rear wheel drive it’s as good as a supper car, only harder working, reliable and somebody pays me money to drive it.
My latest Volvo.
Every man should have a van.
The back bone of Briton, also known as the Ford Transit. Everyone from builders engineers emergency services and delivery people use them, and there’s a good reason why, there brilliant. Although there not a good look for flying goggles, I know this as I have had two experiences with the Ford Transit. I used to work in a warehouse and we had a long wheel base high roof ford transit for moving things about with. Then later on in life I brought myself a short wheel base low roof transit which if I’m honest I miss a lot. I used it for everything and I even had a foldable camping bed in the back, should I ever end up at a party and not be in a fit state to drive home I could just unfold the camping bed and kip in the back. There are those who have converted there vans into fully equipped campers but I liked mine as a van. I could use it as a mobile workshop or just simply to move big or heavy things. Its not slow eather as the thing tailgating you is probably a For Transit with a job to do and in the 1960’s 95% of bank robberies were carried out by armed men in a Ford Transit. TV star and bike racer Guy Martin won a race somewhere in America with a somewhat supped up one. Sadly the one down side to the Transit is they do suffer with rust, and mine had a hard life so sadly the day came when there was no chance of another mot. The small problem being I don’t like the new shape one much, I hired one as I had a job on and much fun and games arises when it struggled to get up my drive and finally got stuck. Not sure why as my mk6 van could do it no trouble at all. So if you want the new shape and you live in the country side buy one with four wheel drive, wax oil the underside and wax the shiny side to keep the rust away. Then you will have years of fun tailgating the other traffic with room for everything in the back including the kitchen sink.
The new shape struggled and got stuck on my driveway, Jack is not impressed.
Why dose mine not look like this?
Well everybody should experience the adrenalin rush of driving a single seat rear wheel drive at least once in their lives. And this mine. I am off course talking tractors, Racing cars are stupid and unpractical. So if you’re going to go for a tractor you might as well get a good one, So I did, only my little grey fergie was in bits and in need of much work when I got my hands on it. 25 hourse power might not sound much these days but my little grey will pull wheelies and tops out at 25 mph, sadly not quite worthy of flying goggles then. However this very famous little tractor the Ferguson TE20 is the first tractor to have the three point linkage. And love it or hate it. If you have a tractor no matter what make it will still be using the three point linkage that was designed by Harry Ferguson. Tractors did pull ploughs before the grey Ferguson however they had a habit of flipping over and killing the driver which is very bad for the drivers health. The three point linkage stopped this and many drivers were much happier as it meant they were still alive and able to go home once they had finished ploughing. And to prove this point here I am, writing this, still very much alive, and I have ploughed many times without being killed. My little grey is the TEF20 which I brought then pulled out of a farm hedge in 2003. I have fully rebuilt it an there is nothing like driving around the country lanes in a classic tractor that I rebuilt myself. It’s also slightly cheaper than the tank as you can buy a good one for around £2000. But its also free tax, no mot, and insurance costs me £50 a year. Practical, fun and cheap. Much better then any super car thing. I love it.
Thats better.
What an amazing post. So fun to read. And a tank?! Holy crap that awesome!
Couldn’t agree more. :)
Hello and thank you for your comment. Yes, a tank is defiantly more fun then one of those not very well built Ferrari things, and you get more looks and attention to.
is it legal to have a tank? great post
In the UK yes, But it would probably be a bad idea to go on a road trip to Russia or any country that doesn't like the British army in it.
POW!!!

Hi @markpritchard. I think one of the best brands of vehicles is the Jeep. Your Landrover is very similar to what I know as Jeep. You can roll on any terrain, it is cost-effective and fuel-efficient.
Motorcycles are also part of the legs of a man hahaha. Honda is a great brand. In Venezuela, the country where I live, there was a time when young people liked Honda or Yamaha. However, I saw many fatal accidents on two wheels which I understood to be very dangerous. Here, many motorcyclists do not comply with safety implements and drive without a helmet on their heads ... error !; you look very handsome with the helmet! oh oh hahaha. A big hello
Hello and your very right about the Land Rover. The Rover company were really struggling after world war two and basically copied the jeeps used by American forces during the war. So the jeep is where it truly started and i have driven one, although it was only a very short drive i did enjoy it. I can certainly see the attraction to Honda they are also very popular over here to. Honda have a reputation for being very reliable cars and bike and we love them for that. They are also a cheep alternative to people who can't afford a car to get to work and i think all bikes are the way forward here in the uk as are roads are getting so busy now, I need the bike to get anywhere in a hurry or the tank. I have seen pictures of entire family's riding a small moped with none of them wearing any protection and the mother carrying a baby and have myself thought thats very dangerous. I don't myself have kids but if i let one of my sisters kids ride with me they would need all the protection, not because i don't trust my own riding but an accident dosn't have to be my fault on are over crowded roads. Thank you for the compliment, it's the flying goggles that do it isn't it. I only have problems with my looks when i take the helmet off LOL, Thank you for your kind comment and an even bigger hello back from the UK.
