Flagged for (repetitive) bid bot abuse @steemflagrewards! Please use appropriate amounts to promote your post if you utilize them @siima! You generated a negative ROI for you and others using the bot while draining the rewards pool with your test posts. It's on all of us to keep the Steem Ecosystem in a healthy balance! If something is unclear, feel free to reach out to me or SFR.
Also flagged for bid bot abuse to free more rewards for deserving people. @steemflagrewards
Bidbots generally return negative roi but they can act as advertising getting your posts more exposure.
The content will also get more attention so it needs to have some value to readers.
I'm not sure the 'more exposure' thing works as I've seen a post with $400 in votes that only got a couple of real comments. You need to build a following by engaging with people.
Haha
It did for this post as the excessive use of bid bots put it onto your radar. 😋
Yeah, well I don't often check the trending page as it is generally full of stuff I am not interested in and I just go looking for stuff that needs flagging. I'm low on voting power now, so I will have to take a break from that.
Yep, I guess nobody checks trending where the abuse is rampant daily from high sp accounts. Hard to tackle effectively.
Maybe the proposed down vote option might make an impact?
I doubt it though.
I do wonder how things will change if Steem can grow to millions of users. Then we could see big names trend just based on their fans. For now we have a few accounts with a lot of power who control things. Some choose to use it for 'evil' and personal gain. Growth is slow for now, but maybe something will happen to change that.
It is an interesting thought experiment in economic modelling terms.
The economic principles at play here are based on the Austrian School of economic theory.
One of the guiding principles of that school of thought is in a form of benign dictatorship. Which is almost exactly what we have here except it's more leaning towards rival cartels amongst the whales.
It is not 'evil' it is just a pure and naive form of capitalism. Rather like the kind of capitalism hated and loved by sixth formers...immature and ill conceived.
It can evolve but mass adoption...?
This platform gives us the potential to help others whilst still earning ourselves. If people just take then I consider that counterproductive. Pure capitalism does not care about anyone else, but most of us have some empathy.
