Finished Renovated Rental Suite

The project that has been my focus for 2018 is getting my house ready to become a rental property. This first part is getting the bottom suite ready to rent and I can say that we finally finished the renovations of the suite. It's taken a lot of work but the final product is quite amazing considering the condition of the suite at the start of the year. Here are some of the photos of the suite in its finished state:

The laundry room was a surprise as the finished room looks much better than I expected. We added shelving and storage under the stairs which will make the room more useful. Here is a picture of the finished laundry room:

The bedrooms are really great in the bottom suite as they are the largest bedrooms in the house. We changed the paint colour in both rooms and I am happy with the choice of colours we chose. These are the pictures of each of the bedrooms:

Finally the bathroom was completely changed with a new pedestal sink, new toilet, new light fixture, and new paint. The bathroom is very nice compared to the state it was in before the renovation.

Overall I have been very happy with the rental suite. I probably invested too much money and made too many improvements but that is my nature to do things overboard. In the end I am happy with the end result and now I am going to begin renovating the upstairs suite which I intend to rent out as well. Once both suites are rented the income will more then pay for the mortgage and expenses of the suite.
