Fracking the Volcano in My Head

in #blog7 years ago

man, has this second post been a struggle to get out.

i have so much to say about so many different things i don't know where to start!

i suppose it comes with the territory of being deeply reclusive while absorbing and processing huge amounts of information in multiple vectors. few of my 'real' friends and family are willing and/or able to engage with most of the contents of my mind. so there is a great deal of information building up pressure in my head, with not enough vents to release it.

i've written drafts on a dozen topics already, and stashed them for later because the deeper i dived into the topic the more apparent it became that what i was writing would make a lot more sense if i explained other things first.

the backwards-first approach - ie in order to work out the process to get from point A to B, start at B, work out the steps needed in reverse chronological order to reach back to A, reverse them and you have your process - works really well, but only if you know what your desired end point is.

in this case my goal is open-ended, my aim is to simply to emit bursts of information and experience the cause and effect they create. so i need to start at the beginning, not the end, while being deeply skeptical of the actual existence of either!

as the pressure of information wanting to be released built, i realized that what i am doing is the equivalent of fracking the slopes of a volcano, and we all saw how that turned out in hawaii of late. This second post had become somewhat of an immovable object in my way.

the way round an immovable object is to be like water, to find a way to embrace it and envelope it. And eventually i found a way - write about writing the second post!

its probably not the most elegant solution but its done.

your guess what the next post is going to be about is at this point as good as mine, but at least the nervous neurons residing just downhill from the geo-thermal plant behind my right eye can sleep easy another night.

thanks for reading
