I have more than 700 but I found out from steemitspecticles.com that 400 of them have never interacted with me. Seems like there must be a lot of data mining going on and a lot of people who follow everyone they can.
I have decided to stop putting all my effort into steemit and focus more on writing stories that are primarily shared elseware. I don't want to waste my time with posts that I hope others to see and get no views so my writing at steemit has become more for catharsis and for connecting with others than for sharing my best work.

Hahha wow. Well a lot has changed, I’ve been putting a lot of effort into steemit now, I get some attention though not always on the posts I’d like. I found that I’d i focused on making the kind of friends I want to make here, everything else kind of works itself out. So I Steem almost next full time but I am a lot more random and relaxed about the quality of my posts. Some are gold, some are crap, and I try to treat payout as an afterthought. When I feel like writing fiction, I’ll do that, but I actually enjoy searching for new ways to engage with people here.
