I finally got a Job

After a year trying to get a job, applying for hundreds of positions. I finally got a job with Boske Road Transport. Its a Sub-Contract as a driver, driving one of their vans. I was told the van is contracted to StarTrack Express and all of my deliveries and pick-ups will only be with them. Boske owns the van and pay for every expense the van has. I'm Sub-Contracted as a Driver and need to have a ABN (Australian Business Number) or a ACN (Australian Company Number). So I'll re-register my Company and all I have to do is invoice Boske every week my hours. The Sub-Contract is paying $25 a hour, which is more then I was getting with my own 2 tonne truck Sub-contracting with Team Taxi Trucks.

I have 3 induction days, one tomorrow with is only 2 hours. And 2 full days as a off-sider in the van as I have to learn Startracks scanning machine for loading and unloading the van at Startracks Depo. Then I start driving the van on the 14th of August. The person that hired me said, they are at the moment working on setting up a office in Toowoomba. And seeing how I go, their plan at this stage is to then put me in a van to do the line haul runs to Toowoomba and back to Brisbane. I'm not expecting to get that. But atleast I have a job and will be off the dole soon. Then its just a matter of putting my plan in to action, to benefit from the up and coming housing and stock market bubbles pops. So I can buy a house or a large block of land to put a house on.

Finding work these days can be really challenging and i think this applies to all over the world. So a big congratulations to you on your new job.

All the best moving forward on your new career venture 👌😎

Thanks, Its not a new career. I used to in the transport industry. I know the ins and outs of it. So its not a challenge. But it will help get me get my final preparations done before the economic collapses after the housing bubble pops.

congratulations and good luck..
have fun at the inductions......dunno how many iv done, every time you change site on the mines...you have to do a few more.....well you get payed i guess....

all the best mate...

These inductions are unpaid. But Employment Plus knows about them and I was told to keep lodging my fortnightly dole form. It won't be cancelled till I put in the area of how much I got paid for work in the last 2 weeks column. Its at a maximum of $1000 a fortnight. So at least I will have some money available till my first pay.

unlucky,sorry to hear that....
the ones i attended were always paid....but i reckon in your case it is a private mob and not the mining industry....

anyway,i wish you a good start and all the best mate

Congratulations on getting the job. Come on.Follow you.
