You can make survival fuel using a few cheap items and paper, leaves or anything burnable material that you can shred into small fragments.

I show you how to make a biomass briquette press using a caulk gun, some PVC pipe and some fender washers. The entire thing cost only a few dollars to make but it could save your life in an emergency.

For those who live out in the country this does not make as much sense. But for people living in the city where there is an abundance of paper but not much other burnable fuel, this could save your life.

Biomass briquettes are make using shredded paper, leaves or any other flammable material (biomass).

Once dried these can be burned like charcoal briquettes for heating and cooking.

During a disaster or grid down scenario this can save lives. Especially for those of you living in the city, as I said, this is an important skill to have.

And, once you make the biomass briquette press, you can basically make your own unlimited fuel for free. All you need is access to the materials.

I also show you how to make your own biomass briquettes using shredded paper. I had a whole bag of shredded paper which I could use for this project.

All you need is shredded biomass material, a bucket and some water. You fill the bucket with the shredded material and add water. Then stir occasionally as the pulp breaks down.

Paper makes the best base because of the glue used in the paper making process. You can mix it in with leaves, grass or other material to bulk it up some.
