Oh boy. u missed a lot. Basically Steem Blockchain Hardforked and now there is Hive which operates under a different set of rules.
Basically after the purchase of the company Steem Inc, the Steem blockchain got taken over by a centralized entity. The vast majority of the Steem community opposed and the result was a hard fork. You can now be censored on Steemit (many ppl have already been) and any1 who values decentralization has migrated to Hive. I am still active on both chains for my own reasons tho ;)
