GENERATIONAL BLESSING

in #blogs23 hours ago

14 AND THE LORD SAID TO ABRAM, AFTER LOT HAD SEPARATED FROM HIM: "LIFT YOUR EYES NOW AND LOOK FROM THE PLACE WHERE YOU ARE—northward, southward, eastward, and westward;
15 FOR ALL THE LAND WHICH YOU SEE I GIVE TO YOU AND YOUR DESCENDANTS FOREVER."
Genesis 13:14,15 (NKJV)

"ON THE TABERNACLE OF MEETING, OUTSIDE THE VEIL WHICH IS BEFORE THE TESTIMONY, AARON AND HIS SONS SHALL TEND IT FROM EVENING UNTIL MORNING BEFORE THE LORD. It shall be a statute forever to their GENERATIONS on behalf of the CHILDREN OF ISRAEL."
Exodus 27:21 (NKJV)

"NOW TAKE AARON YOUR BROTHER, AND HIS SONS WITH HIM, from among the children of Israel, THAT HE MAY MINISTER TO ME AS PRIEST, AARON AND AARON'S SONS: Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar."
Exodus 28:1 (NKJV)

God builds generationally, if you are not ready for generational blessing; God would not want to strike a deal with you.
Note:
The vision given to you by God is generational. God has your future generation in mind when He struck a deal with you—established a covenant with you.
In any assignment, God-given vision, that you are given to embark upon, you must have a true successor to perpetuate the vision.
Any vision that dies with the visionary is an aborted vision! A true and genuine vision from God should outlast the visionary.

Lineage of priests
God expects you to carry your family, spouse and children, along in your God-given vision: "THEREFORE YOU AND YOUR SONS WITH YOU SHALL ATTEND TO YOUR PRIESTHOOD FOR EVERYTHING AT THE ALTAR AND BEHIND THE VEIL; AND YOU SHALL SERVE. I GIVE YOUR PRIESTHOOD TO YOU AS A GIFT FOR SERVICE, BUT THE OUTSIDER WHO COMES NEAR SHALL BE PUT TO DEATH" (Numbers 18:7 NKJV).
• God wants your children to take over from you (Numbers 20:23-28).
• He wants them to continue where you stop, thus, you should build the vision given to you to outlast you.

A myopic visionary
A myopic visionary will labour for today—what to eat and wear will be the priority of such a person.
Your ministry should continue after you have long gone. You must build to last. Thus, pay attention to your children, teach and train them; know that they have a place in the assignment God has given you.

Train your children
I. Teach them the Word of God:
6 AND THESE WORDS WHICH I COMMAND YOU TODAY SHALL BE IN YOUR HEART. 7 YOU SHALL TEACH THEM DILIGENTLY TO YOUR CHILDREN, AND SHALL TALK OF THEM WHEN YOU SIT IN YOUR HOUSE, WHEN YOU WALK BY THE WAY, WHEN YOU LIE DOWN, AND WHEN YOU RISE UP" (Deuteronomy 6:6,7 NKJV).
II. Let them be involved in prayer and the study of the Word:
• Pray together with them.
• Share the Word of God together.
• Expose them to what you know about God and the ministry work.
• Allow them to do what you do practically.
• Pray for them, lay hand on them for impartation—for transference of unction and wisdom (Genesis 48:15,16; Deuteronomy 34:9; 2 Timothy 1:6).
• Be real and practical in your Christian faith.
• Let them see your integrity, be honest and upright in character.
• Endeavour to behave at home, the same way you do behave outside—in the public—avoid living a double standard life.

Note:
SOME believers or ministers behave sanctimoniously in the church or public places, but they are terrors at home—they are difficult to live with.
IF you live a double standard life, your children may be confused about your faith and that may pervert their understanding about God.
THEY may be biased towards God as a result of what they see in your life—in their faith in God and their Christian life in general.

Parents are major influence on children's life. Your life will influence your children, either positively or negatively: "WHEN I CALL TO REMEMBRANCE THE GENUINE FAITH THAT IS IN YOU [Timothy], WHICH DWELT FIRST IN YOUR GRANDMOTHER LOIS AND YOUR MOTHER EUNICE, AND I AM PERSUADED IS IN YOU ALSO" (2 Timothy 1:5 NKJV).
• What you do at home, how you live your Christian life, is a seed and a message to your spouse and children. By and large, It will directly or indirectly determine the choice they made in life.
• It may affect their decision for God positively or negatively—whether to serve God or not.
It is my prayer that you will not fail in your assignment, and in your responsibility on the children given to you by God.
If you have failed in the past, probably you neglected your responsibility, God will give you another chance as you repent and wake up afresh to your responsibility.

In recap; you need to know that God works generationally:
• He chose Abraham and made a covenant to raise a nation through him and give the land of Canaan to his descendants (Genesis 15:8-21; 17:1-8).
• He chose Aaron and his family—made them a lineage of priesthood (Exodus 27:21; 28:1-4).
• He also chose David and his lineage for kingship—governance in Israel and to the whole world through Jesus Christ (2 Samuel 8:8-17).
If God has chosen to establish a covenant with you, the covenant bounds on your children and children's children—the unborn generations of yours.

God's promises concerning you, your life and ministry, will not end with you.
Thus, endeavour to work on your God-given vision, your ministry, and also, work on your family—children.
Remember, success without a successor is a failure!

Your vision, assignment, will not end with you in Jesus' name.
Your vision will still be speaking, If Jesus tarried, long after you might have left the planet earth, in Jesus' mighty name.
Peace!
