“But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one.”
1 Corinthians 2:15 (NKJV)

READ: 1 Corinthians 2:6–16

Whoever is spiritual judges all things (1 Corinthians 2:15)–whoever is spiritual sees all things with a spiritual eye; he
understands things through spiritual mindedness.

• Such people do not judge things by mere outward appearance. They consider the spiritual undertone of whatever happens. They see with spiritual eyes.
• In addition, such a person is not judged by anyone (1 Corinthians 2:15). He has the understanding of spiritual things and would not give occasion to the flesh to do any unbecoming thing.
• Such a person would not give occasion to the unbelievers to speak derisively about him, by doing things that are not
right.

The next verse says:
“FOR WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD THAT HE MAY INSTRUCT HIM?” BUT WE HAVE THE MIND OF
CHRIST.
1 Corinthians 2:16 (NKJV)

Having the mind of Christ in the passage talks about having the knowledge of what God wants. The spiritual person judges because he knows the standard of God. Such a person knows the
intentions of God. By reason of walking with God, such a person can also discern what is good and what is not, what God would be delighted in and what He would not (Hebrews 5:14). Such a believer has had his senses exercised to discern both what is good and what is not, by reason of exercising them through the practising of the Scriptures.

These spiritual or mature believers are not condoned when they miss it. They are usually chastised because they are loved of God (Hebrews 12:5,6). Much is expected from them, because they are
considered to have been given much (Luke 12:48). They are to see things through spiritual eyes, judge things through spiritual understanding and do things through spiritual deductions (1 Corinthians 2:15). If I may ask:

• Are you spiritual or carnal?
• What are you doing, or what step are you taking, for you to be spiritually mature?

It is God’s will that you move from spiritual infancy and grow to maturity.

Re f l e c t :
• Would you describe yourself as a spiritual or carnal believer at this point in your Christian journey and what is your proof for the claim you just made?
• What are you currently engaging in to grow into spiritual maturity from where you are currently?

Peace.
