PRACTICAL MINISTRY 1
"WE GIVE NO OFFENSE IN ANYTHING, that our ministry may not be blamed."
2 Corinthians 6:3 (NKJV)
• A minister is God's representative on earth, thus, he or she cannot afford to live a carefree life (2 Corinthians 4:2; 1 Peter 1:15,16).
- Your life as a minister would affect whatever you do positively or negatively.
- A minister should be circumspect; cautious and be watchful.
- Such must be a man or woman of integrity—honest and upright in character (1 Timothy 3:2-4).
- Remember, you can only produce your kind, that is, those whom you are leading would emulate you—be like you in character.
• As a minister, a leader of the people of God, you would have to learn how to manage your time.
- Give most of your time to whatever you are called or instructed to do. When a minister or a leader engages himself or herself in what they are not called or assigned to do, such would lose focus and find themselves in problems.
- When you strive to do what you are not called to do, be what you are not built to be; you would eventually be discouraged and demoralized when you lack results which ultimately leads to frustration.
- God puts the anointing, His grace, on each individual person He called, based on the purpose of their callings.
- Whatever you are not enabled, empowered, or anointed to do, you cannot not excel or fulfil in the doing of it.
- Give a priority to your primary assignment than any other thing. The reason being that, It is in the pursuit of your primary assignment that you would have fulfilment, Joy, blessings, and whatever.
- In the management of your time, you would need to know what to give attention to and what not to. Things to delegate others to do, and the things you had to do by yourself (Exodus 18:17-26; Acts 6:2-4).
• Whatever your plan on time management, It all starts with your primary assignment. What has God primarily instructed or commanded you to do.
- If you are primarily an evangelist, you might find fulfilment in going from one place to another, but a pastor might not.
- If you are an Evangelist, or a Prophet, but the grace and privilege are granted to you to pioneer a church; you might need to raise someone with a pastoral call or grace or anointing to pastor the church.
- In my experience, I discovered that churches that are pastored by the evangelists or prophets are usually lopsided in growth—they ordinarily do not always have a balanced growth.
- For this reason, plus other reasons, you would need to raise someone to pastor the church. Since you would always not be around. Itinerant ministers are always on the road.
- When you pray about it, God would give you those whom He has ordained to work with you, and particularly do the pastoral work.
- If you, as an evangelist, or a prophet, or a teacher, and any other itinerant minister, are given the grace to pioneer a church; It means God has prepared the person who would be used to pastor the church because you might not be able to do it effectively.
- There is a grace or anointing for each office of the fivefold ministry. If you are not empowered or engraced for a particular office or assignment, you would need to get someone who has the grace for it.
- The church can only be made perfect, be grown to maturity, through the joint contributions of the five ministry gifts.
- A number of those who pioneered a church or ministry do not want to trust the people who are with them, as a result this, what they do not have grace to do, they wanted to force themselves to do it.
- The person who was not called to pastor a church would want to do that, because he or she is the founder or the pioneer of the work; but they find it difficult to trust anyone with the pastoral assignment.
EVEN though he or she was not gifted or anointed to pastor, they wanted to do it anyway, because of the insecurity and inability to trust others. - If you prayed with a sincere heart, God will give you those who are genuinely willing to serve, and are ready to complement your efforts in the ministry work.
- Remember, you cannot do the work alone. Although, it might be difficult to get those who are faithful, but If you waited on God and allowed Him to lead you, He definitely would send your Joshua and Timothy, who are ordained to serve and work with you. May you recognize your Joshuas and Timothys in Jesus' name.
• You will not fail in Jesus' name.
- If you are battling with any sickness or disease, I said you are healed now in Jesus' name.
The hold of that sickness is destroyed in Jesus' name.
Peace.
