PROPHETIC PRAYER
SYRIAN ARMIES WERE STRUCK WITH BLINDNESS
"SO WHEN THE SYRIANS CAME DOWN TO HIM, Elisha prayed to the LORD, and said, “STRIKE THIS PEOPLE, I PRAY, WITH BLINDNESS.” AND HE [God] STRUCK THEM WITH BLINDNESS ACCORDING TO THE WORD OF ELISHA."
2 Kings 6:18 (NKJV)
We could see and deduce that the blindness which the Syrian armies were struck with was not a physical blindness. God actually did restrained their eyes from recognizing the Prophet, Elisha, who they were looking for and purposely came to arrest (2 Kings 6:11-14).
Now, If they were actually struck with physical blindness; How would they have been able to see and follow Elisha to the king of Israel, at the centre of Samaria? (2 Kings 6:19,20).
The Syrian armies could not see and recognize that the same person they did come to arrest was the one leading them to another place which they supposed to be the right place.
Now, the God Who did this could also protect you in the hazardous time, when your may be at risk.
• You can also call on God to blindfold or strain the eyes of those who might be looking or seeking to do you harm (2 Kings 6:18).
• You can also tell God to divide their tongues concerning your matter (Psalm 56:9).
• Prayer also can be offered that their counsel over your life be turned to foolishness, as He did turn the counsel of Ahithophel to foolishness on David the king when he prayed: "THEN SOMEONE TOLD DAVID, SAYING, “Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom.” AND DAVID SAID, “O LORD, I PRAY, TURN THE COUNSEL OF AHITHOPHEL INTO FOOLISHNESS!” (2 Samuel 15:31 NKJV)
"SO ABSALOM AND all THE MEN OF ISRAEL SAID, “The advice of Hushai the Archite is better than the advice of Ahithophel.” FOR THE LORD HAD PURPOSED TO DEFEAT THE GOOD ADVICE OF AHITHOPHEL, TO THE INTENT THAT THE LORD MIGHT BRING DISASTER ON ABSALOM."
2 Samuel 17:14 (NKJV)
• You can also speak prophetically against whoever is trying to stand against or obstruct or hinder whatever God has purposed to do. Elymas the Sorcerer was dealt with by Apostle Paul, when the Sorcerer was trying to dissuade Sergius Paulus the proconsul not to accept Jesus Christ as his Saviour and Lord. He was instantly struck with blindness through Apostle Paul's pronouncements of reproof (Acts 13:6-12).
Some of the prayers above are the biblical prayers that a believer can pray—exercising authority—If he is having issues with those who have given themselves as instruments to be used by the devil; having been taken captives to be used by him, the devil, for his purpose (Acts 13:6-12).
Such a prayer is called prophetic prayer: It could be used to release God's judgement on those who stand as God's enemies.
Such prophetic or authoritative prayer could be used against animate or inanimate objects, whatever, everything can hear. Jesus spoke prophetically against a fig tree and it withered (Mark 11:12-14,21-24).
Authority has been given to you as a believer in Christ Jesus, go and exercise the authority according to the Scripture: "BEHOLD, I GIVE YOU THE AUTHORITY TO TRAMPLE ON SERPENTS AND SCORPIONS, AND OVER ALL THE POWER OF THE ENEMY, AND NOTHING SHALL BY ANY MEANS HURT YOU" (Luke 10:19 NKJV).
Peace!
