New recommended BOINC version
There is a new BOINC version ready to download
We got a new BOINC release to crunch with on Windows, Mac OS X and Android.
Till now the recommended version was 7.12.1 for Windows and 7.12.0 for Mac OS X, released on 12th July and June 29th.
Here are the download links to the new stable version:
Windows (64bit):
BOINC 7.14.2

You can also find them on the BOINC download page here.
Also for Android devices there is right now the possibility to sign up to the BOINC-beta in the Google Play Store to receive an update to version 7.14.1.

There does not seem to be an 7.14 .0 -> 7.14.2 changelog right now. If i find one i'll add it.

Why not a mandatory version of boinc clients?
So we could shutdown botnets..
Mandatory versions in BOINC can only be set by the specific project like "To crunch for this project you need at least version X.Y"
Also a mandatory version does not automatically shutdown botnets, they just need to update.
And last point, BOINC tolerates 'botnets' like SharityEngine. They come in bundeled installers, so not totally malware and they add crunching power to projects.
