Make way for one of the youngest talents in the hindi film industry. The debonair and charming, Varun Dhawan! Fondly, known as 'Pappu', he is the son of the famous director, David Dhawan. Dhawan started his journey in Bollywood by assisting none other than Karan Johar, on one of his most ambitious movie, 'My Name Is Khan'. Subsequently, he was cast by Karan Johar in his romantic comedy movie titled 'Student of the Year' and made a grand Bollywood debut in the year 2012 along with two other debutants, Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra.
Dhawan showed his acting skills with Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya (2014) and ABCD 2 (2015) where he received lot of positive reviews and hefty box office collections. In the former, he was cast as the main lead and he shouldered the responsibility extremely well by playing a lover boy, whereas in the latter, he showcased his dancing skills and charmed us all with his lovely acting. Thus, just by working in three movies, he announced to the world that a new talent has risen.
Later, he was seen in a different role that of an avenger in Sriram Raghavan's crime thriller 'Badlapur', in the year 2015. His performance was top class which could give many senior actors a run for their money. In late 2015, Varun got a chance to work with King Khan in a romantic comedy 'Dilwale'. Early Life
Varun Dhawan can be said to be born with a silver spoon with a very successful director, David Dhawan, as his father. He earned his Business Management degree from Nottingham Trent University, United Kingdom but, had his eyes set on being a Bollywood actor. So to get a hang of how a movie is made, he got back behind the camera as an assistant director to Karan Johar for his movie 'My Name Is Khan'. Consequently, he made his Bollywood debut in the movie 'Student of the Year' in the year 2012 and from thereon there was no looking back for the young lad. His debut movie showed his acting skills and he charmed one and all with his sweet and boyish looks.
Two years later, he had two movies, Main Tera Hero and 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya'. In the former, he played the role of a college brat and enacted many comic scenes with utter ease which reminded one of Govinda. In the latter, he played the role of a flirtatious boy who falls in love with an engaged woman. He single handedly shouldered the movie and it went to become one of his biggest hits commercially. Also, he garnered lots of praise for his acting skills in both these movies.

Maggi controversy – Apparently, the actor quoted on the lawsuits filed against brand ambassadors for endorsing Maggi. He said, 'I don't foresee something like this happening to me as I am associated with reputed brands.’ It is unclear that by making this statement what did he want to convey. But nonetheless, it did not go too well with the brand ambassadors of Maggi.
Varun - Alia rift – After concluding his stage performance, he ran up to his friend Sidharth Malhotra and hugged him but completely ignored Alia, who was sitting right next to Sidharth.
Sohail – Varun slapgate – There were reports of Sohail Khan slapping Varun Dhawan but both of them have denied it.
Radhika Apte’s confession – After working with Varun in the movie ‘Badlapur’, Radhika was seen saying that his compliments as well as his criticism means a lot to her and that they share a very special relation.
