I love your drawing diagram where you should the different stages. It's great to have it visualized before trying it out. It looks like so much work and it's also quite dangerous. As you mentioned, protection is the key. Do you have to do it every year? And how long does it take you to prune such tree? I just wonder as it looks quite big.

Actually this is the first year I worked on this tree. Thought it would make a good article, so I posted what I learned from experience and from reading.
