Have always wondered about the boulders in my garden........

in #bouldersunday5 years ago (edited)

.......it is such an unusual feature and one that I would not put into the category of attractive boulders.

Questions like, who decided that little boulders should be placed in this small garden? And how in the world did someone get them there? Or perhaps this land was always a rocky terrain and when the house was built these two little boulders were left for decoration ..... ran through my mind when we first moved in.

Getting them removed was discussed but instead decided to run with the boulder look, enhancing the garden with lots of plants sounded more of a fun challenge. So our gardening adventure has been an ongoing one over the last five years. I have to say that I even thought of painting them but I did not want the 'crass' look!

I have found a big plus with the boulders, they have been my talking position when chatting to the neighbours over the 6 foot fence. Always a silver lining in any situation isn't there?

Boulder Sunday and Sublime Sunday @shasta and @ace108 done together is my attempt to show the perfect harmony of Mother nature. Everything is for a purpose and everything flows. It just takes me a while to figure that out sometimes.

Cheers and Blessings

Your very own personal boulders! And they are beautiful. I can see where they would make great stepping stones!

As long as I can keep stepping up ...... they are high! Hahaha. One of the reasons to stay fit and able Melinda.

Good for you! I know I couldn't do it.

This is why I exercise - walking, riding and yoga, lol.

My MS has made my legs pretty useless, so I appreciate people who use what they have!

Oh no Melinda, I am so sorry that you have MS, it is such a physical debilitating disease. Sending blessings and healing light.

Yeah, it is not the way I envisioned spending my retirement years, but having you and all of Steem brings the world to my doorstep each day! I'm truly grateful for that!

The great joy of the many different ways of communicating and making friends. I love the writing but I also really love the talking through the comments box. I am called "Have a Chat" in my family - courtesy of one brother.

How cool to have your own personal beautiful boulders @angiemitchell!
They look like a real nice place to sit and stand on! Does make ya wonder
if naturally there or someone placed them. Thank you for sharing these beauties! :-)

Thank you @shasta, I must try to sit on them as I spend quiet contemplation in the garden.

Your boulders are an attractive part of your lovely garden. I’m a rock collector so appreciate you didn’t have them removed. 😊

Are you a collector of big rocks Redheadpei? I collect stones but not bigger ones that would meet the criteria of rocks.

Those boulders are massive, it would be a challenge moving them from anywhere else to the garden. Maybe when the house foundations were dug they found them, and decided rather then remove them use them for a feature in the garden.
