From my house, if I go east it's a very short distance to an area where there are kettles and moraines left by the glaciers.. if I go west it is a very short distance to what is referred to as the driftless area that was never touched by glaciers that all. Lots of really interesting geography around here.
I find the same thing around here. After taking some hikes with my son this past summer, I can better appreciate an area in which I have lived pretty much my entire life.
