Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃............. NW Cascade Wanderings

Happy Thanksgiving from our house to yours! 🦃🦃🦃

It’s Turkey day-a time when most of us eat far too much! Seriously though, it’s a day of thanks for all that we have, the blessings of the harvest, and a time for family gatherings and traditions.

When I was a kid, it was the day of the parade in New York-where Santa was the coming attraction at the end of the parade! Nowadays, I can’t imagine what time I’d have to get up to view it live! I haven’t seen it in years.

This year, we found ourselves at home alone. Both boys had other commitments so we were unable to coordinate everyone’s schedules.

I decided I’d cook for the first time in quite a while. Although just the two of us, we’ll have a bird, dressing, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes and gravy and dessert-either fresh baked earlier pumpkin muffins or peanut butter cookies with oatmeal.

Of course, I’m sure this will last us for a few days. Which will save time on meal prep.

It’s been raining all day here, so going out for a hike wasn’t on the agenda; a very dark and dreary day needing the lights on inside! 💡

Tomorrow will find me heading back to work. It’s hard how to call that day will go. Either we will have a bunch of no shows or cancellations or everyone will show up. I can see it going either way. 🙃

My steps for the day:

That’s gonna be it for today. Take care and enjoy the rest of your day wherever you are! 🙏🌏🙏

For His mercy endures forever.
