I've Stopped............ NW Cascade Wanderings
……fighting it! Yeah, I know we haven’t had Thanksgiving just yet, but it’s hard to ignore the Christmas decorations when EVERYTHING you see everywhere is screaming it, lol! So today after church, which was awesome in worship and sermon, I started going through totes of Christmas decorations. I’d work a bit and rest a bit as that miraculous healing I was hoping for, for my back, didn’t occur 100%, although it’s better. You never know with this type of thing, just what to expect from one day to the next.
An update from Valley Church’s Thanksgiving community dinner: Pastor Kyle told us around 265 meals were served last night at the dinner, and that the fire department has requested it be held there next year! 🚒 Awesome! What a blessing to the community!
So back to the tree; it took a bit for me to get things just as I like them but I did get it done. I also pulled out some seasonal picks and decorated the deacon’s bench.
I found some new but from last year not used, LED tapers that work with a remote control, timer, and each has its own stand complete with suction cups. They’re battery operated and flicker like a real candle. It was a set of 6, so two in the kitchen, two in the window by the tree and two in the bedroom. Very nice!
The double panes glass gives the impression in the picture of three candles. 🕯️🕯️🕯️
Here is the tree completed.
It might be a smidge early, but I do enjoy the additional light it gives and the festive atmosphere.
Here are my steps today done mostly by stationary bike:
That’s gonna be it for today. Take care and enjoy the rest of your day wherever you are! 🙏🌏🙏

NKJV John 3:16-17
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

@elizabethbit, your post is bursting with festive cheer! It's wonderful to see you embracing the holiday spirit, even if it is a "smidge early," as you said, haha! Your tree looks beautiful, and those LED tapers are such a clever touch—the flicker effect sounds so cozy. I'm also impressed with your stationary bike steps! You are keeping active and getting things done!
The update on Valley Church's Thanksgiving community dinner is heartwarming. 265 meals served—what an impact! And the fire department requesting to host next year? Amazing!
Thank you for sharing your day, your beautiful decorations, and uplifting community news. Your positive energy is contagious! 🙏🎄
