Zuki Gets Her Cataracts Removed! Happy Caturday! 😻………Cascade Wanderings
Happy Caturday everybody! Today is also the Easter Vigil. We wait in anticipation…….🪨
Cyle and Cot are inclined to sleep the day away!
It’s been a beautiful sunny day here for once with mild temperatures to boot!
Since it wasn’t raining, we decided it was the day to take care of what I’ve called Zuki’s cataracts! You know-the typical cloudy headlight lenses that acrylic headlights eventually turn! I’d asked for a kit from Rustoleum that reverts those lenses back to clear crystal. Here’s what her headlights looked like before we began.
First, you wet the lens to see if it turns clear when wet. If so, you can skip to step four. However, even though some of it did go crystal with water and some not, we decided not to skip any steps. Taking the sanding pad they give you, you are to wet sand with the green side first. Once you see a reduction in the brown water that results, you switch to the grey side for more wet sanding. Once you finish if the lens goes clear when wet, you are ready for step 4.
Wet sanding….
Then, you open the packet for a cloth soaked in this polymer type solution. Wiping once, you apply to both headlight lenses. Then you wait for it to cure. At this point, we headed out for a hike as we couldn’t drive anywhere as they advised against it.
This picture shows a couple of crosses ✝️ in the sky. Interesting…🧐
Other things along the way.
Once home, we checked the tackiness of the lenses and decided to take the slower back roads to Lynden for this……
Unfortunately, I’ve developed an allergy maybe, to the flour used in some of their products, so while @silvertop enjoyed the ham and Swiss cheese croissant, I took 3 pieces of Hershey’s chocolate hearts for my treat. Great with a hot mocha!
Upon going back to the car, the headlight lenses covers were not tacky. Driving sped up the curing a bit. They will be fully cured tomorrow, but here’s what they now look like.
Such a marked difference! Zuki’s very happy for she can see much better! 😁 No more cataracts! 😎
I am curious how long this lasts and if it does oxidize again, can it be used over this fix. I guess time will tell.
My steps for today:
Tomorrow is Resurrection Day and the early 8 AM service of 3 services is what we are planning to attend. Then, I get to go flower shopping for my garden that I missed due to Zuki’s ‘cataract surgery’.
That’s gonna be it for now. Have a blessed Resurrection Day tomorrow. Take care and enjoy the rest of your day wherever you are! 🙏🌏🙏

Two Scriptures:
BSB Matthew 27:57-66
When it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea named Joseph, who himself was a disciple of Jesus. He went to Pilate to ask for the body of Jesus, and Pilate ordered that it be given to him. So Joseph took the body, wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, and placed it in his own new tomb that he had cut into the rock. Then he rolled a great stone across the entrance to the tomb and went away. Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were sitting there opposite the tomb.
The Guards at the Tomb
The next day, the one after Preparation Day, the chief priests and Pharisees assembled before Pilate. “Sir,” they said, “we remember that while He was alive that deceiver said, ‘After three days I will rise again.’ So give the order that the tomb be secured until the third day. Otherwise, His disciples may come and steal Him away and tell the people He has risen from the dead. And this last deception would be worse than the first.”
“You have a guard,” Pilate said. “Go, make the tomb as secure as you know how.” So they went and secured the tomb by sealing the stone and posting the guard.
Lamentations 3:19-24
Remember my affliction and wandering,
the wormwood and the gall.
Surely my soul remembers
and is humbled within me.
Yet I call this to mind,
and therefore I have hope:
Because of the loving devotion of the LORD we are not consumed,
for His mercies never fail.
They are new every morning;
great is Your faithfulness!
“The LORD is my portion,” says my soul,
“therefore I will hope in Him.”
