It really is amazing how far sound travels!☺️
Late at night, I can hear the Burlington Northern Railroad train engine starting and stopping, and blowing their horn at road crossings, from my front porch!😊
“Hey…….Ara/Grok, how far do I live as the crow flies, from the railroad tracks far below in the valley?”🤔
“Silvertop, you are approximately 500 feet above the valley, and 3.5 miles from the railroad tracks…..as the crow flies!”
Years ago, when our youngest was still living at home. Liz and Silvertop would practice our music, in the Summer, with the windows open, and our amps cranked up Loud!😇
They say if the music is “Too” loud, my friends, you are too old Lol!”🤣
“Dad, don’t you know “ALL” the neighbors can hear you guys!”🙄
I guess our friend @kerrislravenhill hailing from British Columbia Canada could probably hear our music as well Lol!🤣
As I hiked up the timber clear cut, I noticed several people hiking far below me…………
It’s a long way from the top of this mountain to the logging road far below!
Without binoculars there was no way I could tell who these people were!
Then I heard voices………….
“Hello Silvertop!”🤗
I listened carefully………….
“Silvertop have a good hike!”☺️
Ahhh……. It was Dan and Amy, and there kids, they are neighbors of Silvertop!😊
With cougar’s, always on the prowl, I suddenly felt a bit safer with Dan and his family also hiking today!
Dan always “Carries”……..you see he is our streets resident Police Officer!😊
“Dan….. have you seen any Cougars lately?”😺
He hollered back…………..
“Not today Silvertop, I think it’s a good day for a long hike!”💪
“Yes it is Dan…….everyday is a good day for a nice long hike!”🤗
