"HOLD ON TIGHT LITTLE TREE!"😇...................NORTHWEST ADVENTURES! 😀

“ Hold on tight little tree!”😇
Some of you might remember my post taking about “Nurse Trees” a while back!😊
On today’s hike I found four excellent examples of young trees, struggling to hold on tight to decaying tree stumps!😮
I often wonder, if you could fast forward a few years, whether these trees would still have a strong grip on terra firma!🙄
Ohhh…….that second tree looks a bit sketchy!😬
The forest is in constant motion!
New trees are just starting their growth, and older trees like the fifth photo, are slowly decaying, putting nutrients back into the forest soil!😇
These trees you see today, are on the Gold Mine trail……….
This is still a very young forest……..
Loggers completely cleared this section of Sumas Mountain in the early 1890’s.
The Gold mill, and an extravagant hotel, complete with a second story dance hall, went up quickly after the logging!
The “plan” was to keep the perspective, miners happy, while they searched for Gold that was never to be found on this Mountain 🤔
The Gold mines were “Salted” with Gold flakes!🤨
Some things never change my friends, we will always have scammers!
Be careful out there guys!😇
Some “Old Growth” Douglas Fir, and Western Red Cedar trees,somehow managed to escape the clear cut logging……maybe as a token gesture!
General estimates putting these amazing trees at well over 500 years old!😊

Silvertop just brought his iPhone, to quietly snap photos, while enjoying a hike in the Mountains, on this cold, crisp, “winter” day!🥶
