Living in the Mountains can take on much different forms, for different people!😇
One of Silvertop’s neighbors, that passed away several years ago, built this elevated cabin that you see in the second photo!
“Hmmm…… Liz, it doesn’t look very safe, I wouldn’t go up there!”😳

Keith……another neighbor of Silvertop, once described himself, and some of the original residents of our old logging road, as being part of the “Back to the land movement!”😇
In the 70’s we called them “Hippies”🤣
Now Keith is a very successful, retired businessman!😊

Mike and Joan…….a couple only a few doors up from Silvertop, put up this Yurt for their son that was returning from living in Finland!👍
What do they all have in common you ask?
They are all living the Mountain life of their choosing!☺️
Today as Silvertop started my hike, I was stopped by another neighbor on the road………
“Hi Jerry, I see Chris is having trouble with his well!”🤔
“Silvertop, Chris never had a well! He told me he was getting tired of washing his clothes in dirty creek water, and hauling in bottled water!”🙄
Chris was also part of the original “Hippie” residents of our street.
He has been living this way for decades!😳
200 feet down, with only 3 gallons per minute flow, and he has probably spent about $30,000 on this well!😮
The “Old Hippie’s” are now part of the “baby boomer” generation with free time, and money!
“My youngest son heard about Chris’s well drilling and said……………
“Dad you and Mom are old Hippie’s as well Lol!”🥰
“Nope……… your Mom and me are just two more people that fell in Love with the Mountains!”🤗
