"WATER, WATER, EVERYWHERE, BUT NOT A DROP TO DRINK!"😅..................NORTHWEST ADVENTURES! 😀
“Water, Water, everywhere…….but not a drop to drink!”😳
Ohhh……..That’s not good!🙄
Silvertop had just started today’s hike, when I spotted “IT” in my neighbor Chris’s pasture!😬
Immediately I had flashbacks to Colorado………….
Negative 20 degrees Fahrenheit, Silvertop was working at the Airport as a sky cap, when I got the call from Liz…….
“Silvertop, we don’t have any water, the well stopped!”😮
Far down at the bottom of our pasture hill, buried under 6 feet of snow, was our well head!😬
Silvertop was new to having well water.
Back in Cincinnati, you just turned on the faucet, and water just flowed endlessly…… for a cost, of course Lol!😇
We quickly learned that after an hour or so, you could turn the well electric back on and it restarted!🤔
We figured we were running out of water, so we became very frugal with water usage.
“If it’s Yellow it’s Mellow, if it’s Brown it’s Down!”🙄
Really….. with three kids!😬
Silvertop, you’re not in Cincy anymore!🤣
Summer came, and our nasty FOUR lettered word “WELL” continued to plague us with frequent outages…….
Silvertop had had enough…………….
I set up several six foot tall Rainbird sprinklers in our front yard, and turned on the water!
Within thirty minutes everything stopped!😳
A call to the local well driller, and soon we had the dreaded drilling rig truck down in our pasture!
“Silvertop you have an artesian well, water is almost coming out the top, you have plenty of water!”☺️
After replacing the pump motor, we still occasionally had the same issue ……….
The best I could figure, was that somewhere underground, the water line was “pinched” and when sand blocked the much smaller area, the pump shut down!🤔
My neighbor Chris, was outside by the well drilling truck…… pacing!😮
“Hi Chris”………..
“Hi Silvertop”………….
Few words were spoken ……few words were needed!😇
Silvertop hiked onward……………
Till tomorrow Silvertop Mike 😊
