Don't think it's a charting error; more likely some kind of bot designed to bid/buy against itself until a specific level was reached.
If you break it down to the one minute level, it looks like this, and you can see it happened over a six-minute span. In addition, the minute-by-minute volume went from about $100K to $3-4M for a brief burst. The question is WHY?:
